Man arrested for drug smuggling and violence in Antwerp

Last Monday, at the request of the Royal Military Police in Tilburg, the police arrested a 29-year-old man suspected of drug smuggling and shooting and causing explosions at homes in Antwerp.

The Royal Military Police says that the man is suspected of involvement in international drug smuggling through airports and various violent incidents in Antwerp. The military police tracked down the man after investigating the message traffic of the cracked crypto server Sky ECC, with which users communicated in a protected manner.

The man is suspected of having participated in various group conversations, which indicated that he was involved in several international drug transports. These transports took place via Schiphol and Maastricht Aachen Airport, among others, during which hundreds of kilos of cocaine were smuggled to the Netherlands.

The man is also suspected of shooting and causing an explosion at several homes in Antwerp. The military police did not report anything further about his identity on Wednesday. The suspect will be brought before the examining magistrate tomorrow. The Royal Military Police is conducting further investigation into the case, led by the Public Prosecution Service.
