Man arrested after fatal stabbing incident

Around 5:50 p.m., the police received a report of a violent incident on Heer van Rodestraat in Mierlo. Once on site, it turned out that a woman had died on the street near her home. She had been stabbed. On the instructions of witnesses, the woman’s 49-year-old partner was arrested a short time later in the vicinity of the house.

Five children (between 6 and 20 years old) were also present in the home. A number of these children had (minor) injuries. They were all taken to hospital for check-ups and treatment.

Research

Naturally, the police immediately started a major investigation. Technical research was carried out on the street and in the home. Witnesses are also heard and we check, for example, whether there are camera images available that can help us. This investigation should make it more clear what happened in and outside the home and what the reason was. The 49-year-old man has been taken into custody for further investigation.
