The acquitted man is said to be involved in the production of the hard drugs amphetamine and MDMA in the drug lab that was closed down in 2021. The police found the man’s DNA in the warehouse where the drugs were made. “His traces were found on various objects, including a gas mask and a tap from one of the drug production boilers.”

Not enough evidence

The man stated that he had once visited the warehouse to repair something, Omroep Flevoland writes on its website. He said he had nothing to do with the production of drugs. The court therefore found on Friday that there was not enough evidence to prove otherwise.

The man was arrested two years ago together with a 34-year-old man from the province of South Holland. The second suspect was ill on Friday and that is why the court will rule in his case later.
