Man (76) arrested after threatening mayor

Made – On Monday afternoon, November 6, 2023, the police, with the permission of the public prosecutor, arrested a 76-year-old man from Made who is suspected of various offenses committed earlier today, targeting Mayor B. Scholtze of Drimmelen. He is said to have threatened the mayor, among other things. The mayor also had to jump out of the way to avoid being hit.

Today, Monday November 6, 2023, the mayor walked from the town hall at Park 1 to his parked car around 11 a.m. There, the suspect shouted various threats and insults at the mayor from his car, also referring disapprovingly to his orientation. The victim also had to jump out of the way to avoid being hit by the suspect.

After the confrontation with the mayor, the suspect entered the town hall, although he was prohibited from doing so by means of a temporary entry ban due to previous misconduct. There, the suspect at the counter repeated various threats and insults to the mayor.

The mayor has reported threats, attempted serious assault, discrimination and insults. The suspect is also said to have committed trespassing by entering the town hall in violation of a location ban.
