A 35-year-old woman died in a stabbing on Heer van Rodestraat in Mierlo on Saturday evening. Her partner, a 49-year-old man from Mierlo, has been arrested as a suspect.
Around 5:50 p.m., the police received a report of a violent incident on Heer van Rodestraat in Mierlo. When officers arrived at the location, a deceased woman was found on the street near her home. She had been stabbed and died from her injuries. On the instructions of witnesses, the woman’s 49-year-old partner was quickly arrested in the vicinity of the house.
Children
Five children aged between 6 and 20 years old also appeared to be present in the home. Some of them had (minor) injuries. They were all taken to hospital for check-ups and treatment.
Research
The police immediately started a major investigation. Technical research was carried out on the street and in the home. Witnesses are also heard and it is checked whether camera images are available. This investigation should make it more clear what happened in and outside the home and what the reason was. The 49-year-old man is in custody for further investigation.
