Man (37) died after collision with tram


The Hague – A person died on Sunday evening, March 24, after a collision with a tram. The victim is a 37-year-old man of no fixed abode.

Around 9:30 p.m., the police received a report of a derailed tram near Carnegieplein. At the scene it turned out that a person was lying under the tram. Emergency services could no longer do anything for the man. The Traffic Accident Analysis (VOA) started an investigation into the circumstances. The accident may have occurred earlier on the tram route, after which the tram derailed at a later time. The on-site investigation focused on the stretch between Plein 1813 and Carnegieplein. The tram driver escorted the passengers from the tram and victim assistance was arranged for them.
