Man (35) arrested in investigation into dead man Wouwse Plantage

On Saturday, the police arrested a 35-year-old Bergen resident in the investigation into the death of 58-year-old Gradus Haisch from Bergen op Zoom. The suspect is in custody on suspicion of involvement in the death of the victim. This was reported by the police on Monday morning.

Abused

Gradus Haisch, who came from a caravan camp in Bergen op Zoom, was assaulted on Friday evening around 9.30 pm on Julianaweg in Wouwse Plantage and died on the spot from his injuries. Forensic investigators conducted trace investigations at the crime scene until Saturday afternoon.

Limits

The detective team tracked down the 35-year-old suspect from Bergen op Zoom. He was arrested Saturday and is being held for questioning. The man is in complete restrictions, which means he can only have contact with his lawyer. He will be produced before the examining magistrate on Tuesday.

Victim Haisch was found near the warehouse where the so-called torture containers were discovered in 2020. Nothing is yet known about the circumstances of the incident and the motive for the assault.
