The police today arrested a 29-year-old Rotterdam resident for involvement in a fatal stabbing in Morocco at the end of July. After the stabbing, there were two explosions at a house in Rotterdam. The police suspect that this was related to the stabbing incident.
According to Rijnmond, the stabbing took place in the seaside resort of Al-Hoceima. A 25-year-old Rotterdam resident was then killed. The victim is said to be a cousin of the suspect. The two are said to have had an argument about money.
After the stabbing, there were two explosions at a house on Rembrandtstraat in Rotterdam-Noord. According to Rijnmond, the suspect lived in that street.
At the beginning of August, an explosive went off for the first time at the apartment house. A 23-year-old man from Spijkenisse and a 24-year-old man of no fixed address were subsequently arrested. The second explosion happened early this week. In both cases, the home was damaged, but no one was injured.
Police are still investigating the two explosions. Witnesses are asked to come forward.
