The police arrested a 26-year-old man from Geldrop on Sunday morning on suspicion of involvement in a violent crime in Maassluis. A 42-year-old man died on Friday night after a fight.
On Friday night around 02.30, the police received a report that a stabbing had taken place on Fenacoliusslaan in Maassluis. That turned out not to be the case. There was, however, a fight between two men, including the victim. He was seriously injured and was rushed to the hospital, where he died in the course of the night.
The perpetrator had already fled by then. He eventually reported to a police station in Eindhoven on Sunday morning where he was arrested.
According to the police, it is not yet clear exactly what happened on Fenacoliusslaan and what the circumstances were. A neighborhood investigation has been started and the Forensic Investigation is also investigating. Police are looking for witnesses and images.
