On Thursday evening, the police arrested a 20-year-old man in a house on Tinnenweide in Veenendaal on suspicion of involvement in a shooting earlier that evening. A 48-year-old man from Veenendaal was injured.
At around 10:30 p.m., police received a report of a shooting. On the street near the Tinnenweide, a 48-year-old man appeared to have been shot. The victim was injured. He was treated at the scene for his injuries and taken to a hospital. The man is in good condition, according to police.
Several police units supported by a police helicopter searched for the suspect who, according to bystanders, should still be on the street. The 20-year-old suspect was eventually found in a home and arrested.
Police have launched an investigation and are looking for witnesses. A motive for the shooting is not known.
