After the success of The Mousetrap, the producer comes with the second murder mystery of Agatha Christie. After the premiere on November 26, Murder on the Orient Express can be seen in theaters throughout the Netherlands.

REP Entertainment presents Murder on the Orient Express, a play based on Agatha Christie’s masterpiece. The play has been adapted for theater by playwright Ken Ludwig, known for De drie Musketeers and Crazy for You, among others, and is being translated and directed by Jasper Verheugd. The star cast consists of Remko Vrijdag, Frederik Brom, Lone van Roosendaal, Gerrie van der Klei, Wilbert Gieske, Ruben Brinkman, Marijn Claes, Lusanne Arts and Belle Zimmerman.

Director Jasper Verheugd: “I am very excited to bring this iconic Agatha Christie to the stage. With this cast, it promises to be an evening that you will not soon forget. It is an honor to present this classic plot twist murder mystery to the public and I look forward to taking them on this thrilling search for the perpetrator.”

The story takes place on board the Orient Express, where a murder is committed on a winter evening. All travelers seem to have an alibi, but nothing is what it seems. Trapped on the train, with the killer in their midst, the passengers rely on Detective Hercule Poirot to solve the mystery. The audience is taken on a blood-curdling search for the perpetrator, full of plot twists and surprises.

It will be a large-scale theater production with a cinematic character; an inventive decor, spectacular light and soundscapes and music are used. “For this new version of Murder on The Orient Express, we get a lot of inspiration from location theatre, which I have been immersing myself in in recent years. My goal is to bring this to the theaters as well and to approach the theater, the building itself, as a location. The public enters and really goes on a journey with the Orient Express. In short, a real experience. Quite a challenge for a touring production. But a challenge that I firmly believe in.” According to the director.
