Laura Fygi: woke going too far

Lately there has been a lot to do in showbiz about (sexual) transgressive behaviour. What do you think of that, we asked Laura Fygi? “Fortunately I never had to deal with that. Of course I don’t condone misconduct, but it’s a wave right now. Everyone seems to have done something… I think it might be going a little too far here and there. If someone gets a wink, it is immediately said that it is transgressive behavior. Get out! I’m too sober for that. Look: rape is something completely different. But when a guy puts a hand on my ass, I’m not going to complain right away. I then say: ‘Buck it up!’ I’ve always opened my mouth when I didn’t like something. Or someone will get a slap from me for all I care.”

Just a compliment

“From 1984 to 1989 I was part of girl group Centerfold, which was very challenging. I challenged myself and then you have to be man enough to resist that and not complain afterwards.” Did men in your Centerfold era make sexually suggestive comments to you? “Yes, but I don’t see that as a negative thing. If someone said to me: ‘You were such a nice horny woman’, well sorry, I thought that was a compliment! It’s how you perceive it. The whole woke thing now goes too far, I think.”
