Customs intercepted a large amount of cocaine from Peru in the port of Rotterdam on Thursday. The drugs were hidden in a container.

During a check, customs found 129 kilos of cocaine on Thursday morning. The drugs were hidden in a prepared back wall of a refrigerated container filled with mangoes from Peru.

Smuggling

The fruit was destined for a company in the province of South Holland. According to the Public Prosecution Service, this company has nothing to do with smuggling, she reports in a message today.

Research

The HARC team, a partnership of Customs, FIOD, Seaport Police and the Public Prosecution Service in Rotterdam is further investigating the case. The drugs have since been destroyed.
