Patricia Paay turned 75 last weekend, but she did not celebrate it in a big way. The singer says on Instagram that she does not like celebrating birthdays. Instead she was a guest on Shownieuws.
“Today I can blow out 75 candles,” writes Paay, who believes that age is just a number. “I personally don’t like celebrating birthdays. I always find it such an obligation. Of course I’m going to have a cup of coffee today with a delicious piece of cake, but other than that, no nonsense. I just make it a fun day, like I do every day.”
Her 75th birthday did not go completely unnoticed. Paay was invited to the broadcast of Shownieuws, which looked back on her life and career. “It was a warm bath and I really felt at home with you. Hopefully we will do it again soon.”
Due to the late broadcast, Paay arrived home a lot later than she is used to. “But more than worth it.” The singer looks back on her birthday with satisfaction. “Even though I don’t like birthdays, it was a very nice and enjoyable day. Today is a day of doing absolutely nothing and relaxing.”
