This week Princess Amalia had her first state banquet. Together with King Willem-Alexander, Queen Máxima, and Princess Beatrix, she received the Spanish King Felipe and Queen Letizia in the Netherlands.
Amalia seriously endangered
Last Tuesday it was announced that Amalia had stayed in Spain for a long time due to serious threats. She is now back in the Netherlands and can continue her studies here. King Willem-Alexander expresses his gratitude to King Felipe: “A visit to Spain always feels like a warm abrazo. This applies to us, and also to our eldest daughter, the Princess of Orange,” he begins his speech of thanks. “Due to circumstances, she lived in Madrid last year and was able to continue her studies at the University of Amsterdam from there. The fact that this was possible is due to the loving efforts of a large number of your fellow countrymen and yourself. A moving proof of friendship in a difficult time. I would like to thank you and everyone who contributed to this very much!”
