Jordan sees Hamilton’s transfer to Ferrari becoming reality: ‘Lewis needs change’

“There’s only one place Lewis Hamilton can go, and that’s Ferrari,” said Eddie Jordan in April last year. A few days ago, about ten months later, the prediction of the former Jordan Grand Prix team boss came true. The seven-time world champion will actually move to Maranello, where he will hunt for his record-breaking eighth world title from 2025.

Jordan showed his enthusiasm all too well when he speculated about a hypothetical switch from Hamilton to Ferrari in April last year. ‘Lewis without a doubt has the talent, which would make it a match made in heaven. I believe that Ferrari needs a change, but Hamilton can also use that if he wants to continue in his quest (for his eighth world title, ed.),” the now 75-year-old Irishman told Express Sport. The Irish Post reports.

‘Lewis needs change. That will benefit his mindset, motivation, initiative and enjoyment,” Jordan continued. ‘As a former team boss, I saw in the past how differently they work at Ferrari. I would love to see how Lewis behaves in that environment. In doing so, he could really wake them up and push them in a different direction. He can ensure that the small problems that Ferrari faced disappear.’

A dream come true for… Jordan

Even about the term, Jordan got it right. “I would like to see Lewis at Ferrari for a year or two before he retires. It would be a fantastic story. It is my dream, but I also know that it is very unlikely.’ What now appears: the transfer is indeed coming (in 2025), and so Jordan’s dream will still come true.
