According to John de Bever, his partner Kees is the reason why he is currently so successful as an artist. John says in Party: ”Kees is really a manager. He also keeps me on the straight and narrow. Now I’m not one to deviate from the right path, but I do give everything away. I always want to help everyone. I like it when I can make people happy. That makes me happy myself. Kees is exactly the same in that respect, but he is much more business-like than I am. I’m not business at all. If Kees hadn’t been there, something like our real life soap ‘De Bevers’ and ‘De Bevers Live’ would never have happened. Kees makes everything I do crazier and more beautiful. Sometimes I get tired of everything Kees has come up with, but I am also twenty years older, haha.”
