IT Architecture plays an important role in indicating the position of the technical components and in indicating the frameworks. And also in providing advice regarding the realization of the project objectives.

Your role:
As an IT Solutions Architect you focus on sub-areas of ICT Architecture: specific business solutions, platforms or technical components. You develop the positioning and frameworks, maintain them and apply them to concrete issues from the change portfolio. You make a valuable contribution to project managers and product owners who can achieve their objectives based on your advice.

  • At an operational level, you advise project managers and technical architects on the positioning and realization of the components you are working on;
  • You develop the main design of the components and their interactions, based on the architectural vision and established frameworks, and you actively manage their realization by the responsible teams;
  • You provide solicited and unsolicited advice on methods, techniques and ways of working that improve and maximize the use of the components;
  • You establish further architectural principles and (technological) standards for these components and contribute to their awareness, support and understanding within the organization;
  • You maintain relationships to promote the application and quality of the part of the ICT architecture you work on, both within the municipality and outside it;
  • You record knowledge about the IT architecture and consolidate that knowledge within the architecture function.

You work on architectures for different domains and themes. For example, I currently work a lot for the Social Domain and the financial function of the municipality, but in the near future I will focus more on the theme of Data get started. As a solution architect, I make global architectural sketches for new initiatives and for projects I take care of the project start architecture (PSA). I ​​also provide insight into the IT landscape of the Social Domain, so that new initiatives can quickly be plotted on the current situation. Who do you do that with?
You work in the architectural team of the Information and Management sector, in the Advice department, consisting of architects, demand managers and business consultants, a total of about 20 people. You participate in various projects from the change portfolio, where you work directly with the project leaders and with the important players in the realization: product owners, analysts, developers and administrators.

You will also become part of the municipality-wide architecture function, consisting of an Enterprise Architect, a municipality-wide Technical Architect, several Domain Architects and a number of ICT Architects. Together you have one goal: to help the municipal organization cope with the complexity of the business and IT landscape and thus support the city even better.

This is what you bring with you:

  • You have at least a completed HBO and/or university education and at least 3 years of work experience as a developer, administrator, consultant or project leader in a complex IT context and are highly technically skilled;
  • You are familiar with IT architecture. Some relevant experience is desirable, but not required;
  • You have insight into technologies and components that are relevant to a municipality: task applications related to the primary tasks or to the supporting and controlling functions and the infrastructure components on which they run.;
  • You have demonstrable knowledge of architectural modeling techniques and methods. Experience in using ArchiMate and relevant training is an advantage;
  • You are self-managing and know how to organize your work to fulfill an assignment, asking for help where necessary;
  • You have good oral and written communication skills, are a good listener and are able to communicate at different levels and provide advice where necessary;
  • You can handle the complexity of the assignments and are able to translate them into designs. You oversee the scale of a solution and take relevant details into account;
  • You are analytically strong; This means, among other things, that you are able to quickly identify the underlying cause of a problem;
  • You are independent, steadfast and able to influence and convince people. Always taking into account the situation and position of the other person.

What do we offer?

  • A gross monthly salary between €4,211 and €5,997 based on a 36-hour working week. The exact salary is tailored to the education, knowledge and experience you bring;
  • One year contract. If we are satisfied on both sides, it will be converted into a permanent contract;
  • 27 vacation days per year (if you work full-time). In addition, you can build up ADV days and take a total of approximately 10 weeks of leave per year. If you work part-time, this is of course pro rata;
  • On top of your salary you will receive our Individual Choice Budget of 17.05%. This means that 17.05% of your gross monthly salary is reserved for you every month. You can, for example, use this to purchase days of leave or for a bicycle allowance. You can also have this budget paid out (partly);
  • We will fully reimburse your journey by public transport. Are you traveling by car? Then we have a travel allowance of €0.23 per (commuting distance) kilometer from 7.5 km to 40 km one way. Are you coming by bicycle/e-bike or on foot? Then we reimburse €0.23 per km without maximum. And for every day that you work completely from home, you also receive compensation;
  • A wide range of courses and training through the Eindhoven Academy;
  • Hybrid working: a nice mix of working at one of our locations or from home. We offer (home) work facilities to make your workplace safe and healthy. And for every day that you work completely from home, you receive compensation;
  • Free fruit in our buildings and €20 per month discount on a sports subscription at an affiliated gym;
  • Access to the digital version of the Eindhovens Dagblad and 8 hours per year to participate in social activities that contribute to the city.
