Job offer

Your role:
You realize projects with an ICT component. Whether it is an efficiency gain in the business sectors, better services to residents, a great innovation opportunity or ensuring a secure solution to exchange data with our environment; everything nowadays contains ICT. Being able to properly implement ICT changes requires good project management or other form of coordination. We work with hybrid working methods – best fit for purpose; for example within scrum solution teams, or tightly planned tender processes. The position is also subject to change; Competencies such as the following will certainly remain necessary, but it may be the case that a more suitable position/role description will follow for this and that you will play a role around multidisciplinary (agile/scrum) teams.

What do you do/what do you stand for?

  • You create the project letter and the project plan (PID) based on a project assignment, prepare progress reports for the steering group, make risk inventories and draw up a Project Delivery Document at the end of your project. In the plans, you devise the most suitable project approach together with your environment. Always with the result in mind and the most efficient way to get there;
  • You ensure that products and services are delivered and match the goals. We value creativity, but it must also be appropriate within the applicable processes, guidelines and quality criteria so that together we also stand for good accountability to, for example, internal control and the accounting department;
  • You ensure clear focus, drive, motivation and results to be achieved in your project team by making people the owners of partial results, working intensively together, sharing knowledge/status and communicating transparently;
  • You include your client, steering group, product owners, end users and other stakeholders in your project – ensuring clear communication, but also a healthy dose of professionalism; we can never do it well without working together intensively;
  • You actively contribute to the development of the team and the field. You do this, among other things, through participation, initiative, thinking along and daring to make yourself vulnerable in, for example, intervision sessions. But also by coordinating or participating in improvement actions yourself.

Colleague Gert Jan Wiers, project manager: “Working with a multidisciplinary team to modernize customer-oriented working at Sport not only provides great convenience for residents. In this way, the municipality can also facilitate its residents even better and more efficiently. That gives me energy now!”

Who do you do that with?
We work within the IT and Management sector for change assignments (programs, projects, research, work plans) for (groups of) sectors. This means that we work together with a group of colleagues from all disciplines (advice, management, CIO Office, architecture, scrum teams) to provide services to a group of sectors. We know the customer organization, think along and make it possible together. You are part of 1 or 2 of those groups, currently the focus will be on business operations sectors and municipality-wide facilities. This team is managed by the program manager (from our own department) who also regulates the process and coordinates priorities with the business. This is done in intensive collaboration with the strategic information manager and the IT Business Partner.

In the department team you will find fellow program managers, project managers, product owners and test managers. With this team we work on, among other things, knowledge sharing and building and intervisions.

This is what you bring with you:

  • You have at least a completed HBO education, preferably in a business administration/ICT direction;
  • You provide the people you work with with feedback and also ask for it in order to continually improve together. You show ownership, you can collaborate/network well, plan and organize and can identify problems quickly and effectively. You have strong verbal and written communication skills and are (therefore) sensitive and have good persuasive skills;
  • You have experience in the IT field and are able to successfully achieve goals and intensive collaboration with others;
  • Good oral and written command of the Dutch language, because you deal with many stakeholders and will often have to figure out the question behind the question;
  • Experience as a project manager is an advantage, but not an obligation. Relevant, demonstrable competencies are.

What do we offer?
With a job that allows you to have an impact on the city and the municipality of Eindhoven. And an informal organizational culture, where attention is paid to a good work and private balance. You can also count on the employment conditions below.

  • A gross monthly salary between €4,211 and a maximum of €5,997 based on a 36-hour working week. The exact salary is tailored to the education, knowledge and experience you bring;
  • One year contract. If we are satisfied on both sides, it will be converted into a permanent contract;
  • 27 vacation days per year (if you work full-time). In addition, you can build up ADV days and take a total of approximately 10 weeks of leave per year. If you work part-time, this is of course pro rata;
  • On top of your salary you will receive our Individual Choice Budget of 17.05%. This means that 17.05% of your gross monthly salary is reserved for you every month. You can, for example, use this to purchase days of leave or for a bicycle allowance. You can also have this budget paid out (partly);
  • We will fully reimburse your journey by public transport. Are you traveling by car? Then we have a travel allowance of €0.23 per (commuting distance) kilometer from 7.5 km to 40 km one way. Are you coming by bicycle/e-bike or on foot? Then we reimburse €0.23 per km without maximum. And for every day that you work completely from home, you also receive compensation;
  • A wide range of courses and training through the Eindhoven Academy;
  • Hybrid working: a nice mix of working at one of our locations or from home. We offer (home) work facilities to make your workplace safe and healthy. And for every day that you work completely from home, you receive compensation;
  • Free fruit in our buildings and €20 per month discount on a sports subscription at an affiliated gym;
  • Access to the digital version of the Eindhovens Dagblad and 8 hours per year to participate in social activities that contribute to the city.

What do you stand for?
Eindhoven is the city of innovation, technology, design and, above all, the future. We stand together for our city with involved residents, partners and social agencies.

Hybrid working is possible for most functions, including this position. Employees will therefore work less from the office and more online. This means less travel time and travel. Do you bring the right expertise, but do you live a little further away? Then we cordially invite you to respond to this great substantive challenge!

We find diversity and inclusion very important. There is room for everyone with us. We are happy with the differences between our employees. We prefer to have them as large as those in our city and region. Because it is precisely because we are different that we realize our big plans together. Would you like to know what it is like to work with us? Then read the stories of our employees at www.werkenvooreindhoven.nl.
