Dordrecht – The police have started an investigation into two fires that took place in Witte de Withstraat. The local residents are very much frightened. The police are investigating whether arson has occurred and are looking for witnesses and images.
On Sunday, November 5, we received a report of a fire in Witte de Withstraat. When the officers arrived they saw that a fire was raging in the basement of the porch house. No one was injured, but homes had to be evacuated. Fortunately, the fire brigade arrived quickly to extinguish the fire. It was not clear what caused the fire, which prompted police to investigate.
On Tuesday evening, November 7, we also received a report that there was a fire in a house in the same Witte de Withstraat. Fortunately, no one was injured. Fortunately, the fire brigade was able to immediately indicate that this was not a possible arson.
Last night, November 8, we received another report of a fire in the same street. Now it would be a fire in a home. Here too, the emergency services immediately started evacuating the homes. Ultimately, two people were taken to hospital due to smoke inhalation. Whether there is a connection between the two fires and whether both were lit is being investigated.
