Investigation after explosion and graffiti on Louis Couperusstraat

Amsterdam – The police have started an investigation into an explosion and graffiti on Louis Couperusstraat in Amsterdam-West. The damage after a suspected explosion was discovered by passers-by on Wednesday morning. In addition to the damage, the building has been defaced with a euro sign and a clock.

Around 9 a.m., passers-by immediately call the police after discovering the damage and graffiti. The police immediately arrive on the scene and cordon off the area for investigation. Witnesses say they heard a bang around 2:30 am. The police are investigating the circumstances and whether the graffiti and explosion are related.
