As an Information Manager/Coordinator of the Information and Data Management (I&G) unit, you are involved in facilitating and supporting internal and external information and data issues. You will (non-hierarchically) manage a unit of (8 fte) with different specialisms.

Unit I&G deals with new developments in the field of information management and digital transformation. In addition, the I&G unit functions as a linking pin with the technical management with Shared Service Center DeSom. This is a partnership of 6 surrounding municipalities (Drechterland, Enkhuizen, Stede Broec, Opmeer, Medemblik and Koggenland).

What are you going to do?

You participate in and lead various projects in the field of information provision and digitization. In addition to various executive activities, you investigate issues and translate them into concrete goals and projects for the municipality. You advise on the desirability of chosen solutions, including costs and risks. You convert wishes and needs of the organization/region into concrete information and business solutions and projects.

As Coordinator you actively fulfill the role of Information Manager towards our Shared Service Center DeSom. You represent the municipality of Opmeer in consultations on a tactical/strategic level. You are also a point of contact and sparring partner, both internally and externally for information issues. You investigate possibilities to work together with partners and monitor the cohesion between your own and regional developments.

In short, what do you actually do?

  • You provide substantive management of various specialisms: GEO, Functional management, Information advisor (8 fte).
  • You are responsible for drawing up a (multiple) annual planning for the I&G unit.
  • You are budget manager and you draw up budgets for the unit in consultation with the financial advisor.
  • You monitor the service and cost level of our Shared Service Center DeSom.
  • You take on various projects within the municipality. Consider, for example, the digitization of processes and the tendering of new software.
  • You write (multi-year) strategic policy on information provision.
  • You create frameworks within which the required structure and cohesion between business processes, information systems and technical infrastructure can be realized and maintained.
  • You map out the wishes and needs of the organization/region for process and information related projects.
  • You provide solicited and unsolicited advice both in writing and in spoken word.
  • You advise the municipal clerk and mayor on the documents that are discussed in the Advisory Committee, Daily and General Board of SSC DeSom.

Where are you going to work?

The I&G unit falls within the Support department. This department has several units: financial policy, human resources, legal affairs, communication, information and data management and controlling. The purchasing advisor, Privacy Officer, CISO and the Data Protection Officer are also part of the department.

The organization is developing rapidly. Much remains to be done in the coming years. Even though the municipality is small, Opmeer wants to remain an independent municipality.
