Although he has just played his first leading role in an international film, Rico Verhoeven mainly earns his money from kickboxing and that is going very well for him. He is now a multiple world champion by beating Badr Hari, among others. Each fight would bring in five tons and if he ends a fight with a knockout, there will be a bonus of said 50,000 euros on top. That has certainly done him no harm so far.
Divorce from Jacky
Due to his good financial position, Rico was even able to help his ex Jacky with her house. In 2017 they bought a villa together in the Brabant town of Halsteren. Although the relationship ended, the two continued to live under one roof for a while. The question was which of the two would continue to live there. Finally, Rico came up with the solution. He continued to own the house and took on the entire mortgage payment. But apart from the mortgage, there was also a private loan of 583,000 euros, borrowed from his company Rico’s Business BV. Normally, Jacky would have had to pay half of this. However, Rico has put his hand over his heart and taken on all the debts. This saved his ex tons. And when Jacky bought her own house, he provided a mortgage of 310,000 euros through his company, so that she did not have to go to the bank. So Rico became sole owner of the villa, which he has often called his dream villa. Nowadays he lives there with his new love Naomy. He bought the villa for 668,000 euros and had a mortgage on it for 912,000 euros. There is certainly a surplus value of a few tons on the villa. In addition to this villa, Rico recently also bought a shop/business space plus an apartment for the total amount of half a million euros; and he paid for it with his own money. In other words: he has not taken out a euro mortgage for it.
Sounding numbers
In addition, the kickboxing world champion also owns two Asian restaurants under the name Mood Streetfood. One is located in Eindhoven and the other in Leidschendam. Rico runs it together with top chef Eveline Wu. Unfortunately, no figures are yet known at the Chamber of Commerce. That is the case with the figures of his company Rico’s Business BV. They show that the shareholders’ equity at the end of 2021, the latest published figures, amounted to 1.5 million euros, compared to 2.3 million euros a year earlier. Still, we don’t have to feel sorry for Rico. His total assets can certainly be estimated at 2.5 to 3 million euros. And that amount will undoubtedly grow in the coming years.
