Tilburg – In an apartment on the top floor of a complex on Burgemeester Stekelenburgplein, a hemp nursery was discovered on Tuesday, May 30, after a report about weed smell. There were a total of 448 plants and 208 cuttings in three rooms. The plantation has been cleared. The police are investigating the operator(s).
On Monday, May 22, a cannabis plantation was also rolled up in the same complex. In addition to approximately 180 plants, several kilos of hemp tops were cleared. Police are investigating whether there is a connection.
Priority
The police, the Public Prosecution Service and municipalities give a high priority to tackling cannabis. These plantations often cause odor nuisance, present a fire hazard and, moreover, there is often a relationship with organized crime (violence, burglaries, robberies, rip deals and liquidations). Citizens who have tips about the presence of hemp farms can pass this on:
- via 0900-8844 or WhatsApp (0612207006),
-
anonymously via 0800-7000 or the M report form,
