As a helpdesk employee, you like to roll up your sleeves. You are eager to learn and driven and like to get your teeth into different issues. Furthermore, you are of course customer and service-oriented and are good at identifying problems with a customer. You recognize yourself in the following points:
you enjoy working with ICT and answering questions about it you have an intermediate vocational education diploma you can work independently, but also enjoy working in a team you manage to translate ICT terms into terms that understand customers and end users well you are someone who works in a structured way and is proactive
As a helpdesk employee you are the first point of contact for the customers. All calls will first come to you. You assess the customer’s question. Maybe you can answer the question yourself, but if this question is too complex you can also forward it. The longer you work at this company, the more questions you will be able to answer yourself. Questions can vary in difficulty. You could expect questions about ICT-related topics, but you could also expect questions about, for example, broken parts. You may also need to help a customer reset an account. You will therefore always have a variation in the questions you will answer or forward. What is especially important is that you are interested in ICT. You must like to know how something works and would like to learn about technical terms and abbreviations.
