Utrecht – On Wednesday evening, officers arrested two suspects red-handed on suspicion of receiving cargo bikes. After a search of a house, a lot of cash and various fake luxury goods were seized. On Tuesday evening, March 22, a reporter saw two men dragging a cargo bike on the Padualaan and did not trust this. After contacting the police, it turned out that this cargo bike had been spotted due to a theft on March 14 in Amsterdam. With the help of images it became clear that the suspects use a car ambulance. Surveillance officers find the car ambulance, but the driver tries to take off. The car ambulance is finally stopped on the Voorveldselaan.

Large amount of gel found

Both occupants, a 15-year-old and a 24-year-old from Utrecht, have been arrested and are currently still in custody. After the arrests, a house search was carried out. More than 20,000 euros in cash was found there. In addition, various luxury goods such as watches and designer clothing have been found. Further investigation shows that these are largely counterfeit goods. The amount of money and the goods have been seized. The investigation into the suspects continues. It is being examined whether they can be associated with the handling and theft of even more cargo bikes in Utrecht and the surrounding area.
