He may be 73, but Harry Slinger hasn’t lost any of his mischievous and fun side. He still performs regularly with his band Drukwerk, although he does demand that the tent must be sold out. Party visited Harry in Drachten, where indeed a full room was waiting for the famous tunes of Drukwerk. Harry was on stage with his son Bram: “We are very proud of each other.”
How special do you think it is that you are now playing together in ‘Drukwerk’?
“That is the best thing that could happen to me in my life. And I think that also applies to Bram. He was only three peats high when he pretended to play the guitar in the pub when we performed.”
Are you proud of each other?
“Yes, terribly proud. And Bram does a lot more, doesn’t he? He has a wonderful career as an editor, including for the TV programs of Floortje Dessing. They don’t want to lose him there, but I’m afraid he will stop by Floortje one day. He is being pulled from all sides as an editor.”
