Such was the European Gala

It’s been on the Disneyland app all along: The Marvel Avengers campus at Disney Studios Park closes at 2 p.m. for an event. That event was the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3-gala, for which the actors from the film had flown to Paris especially. We saw how director James Gunn and leading actors such as Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana and even Vin Diesel, among others, walked up to say something about the film, which has officially been launched. At least: in the Netherlands the flick will run from the beginning of May.

Marvel Avengers Campus

At the Marvel Avengers Campus at a launch deck for superhero vehicles, the actors entered. Vin Diesel, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana and director James Gunn. With loud cheers. Everyone got a question and answered it fairly well. There was loud cheering for the actors and actresses, who have only seen their star status grow thanks to this film franchise. Avengers may be Disney Marvel’s showpiece, but the Guardians are also very popular among the movie-watching public.

The superhero adventures of the Guardians of the Galaxy come to an end with the third film, which means that there is a lot of emotional charge among the cast. Karen Gillan (Nebula) shared how much the cast had come to feel like her chosen family, while Zoe Saldana (Gamora) reminisced about her favorite moment. “That was in the first movie when Groot grew into a big tree and took care of all of us. Vin and Ben weren’t there, but the music that went with the scene was playing. James takes us, he started crying, we started crying and that’s when I realized for the first time that I was part of something very special that we all share.”

I am Big

It must have been a bit different for Vin Diesel. He only needs to voice a computer-animated character. And a character who only says three words: “I Am Groot”. In short, I am Groot. Something he does in a studio somewhere afterwards, not together in the same shot at the same time with his colleagues. The same goes for the man behind Rocket, Bradley Cooper, although he was not present in Paris. It was already striking that Diesel was there, given the efforts he undoubtedly has to make for the release of Fast X (the new Fast & Furious movie).

In any case, he found it difficult to choose what he likes about his role as Groot. “Everything!” he exclaimed. “I like everything. I think the character is very dynamic and I’m glad I could add something to that.” Christ Pratt could only say that he thought it was ‘Incredible’, which he pronounced in French and was simply corrected by the host: “Incroyable!” In any case, the actors and actresses, plus James Gunn himself, are very enthusiastic, but that is of course also part of a tour for the film.

Part of the European gala was watching the film, so we have already seen the film and will tell you exactly what we thought of it next week. Guardians gala

In addition to the film, gala guests were treated to a Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 created drone show and projection on the Hollywood Tower of Terror. And of course a party: the gala went on into the wee hours of the night. Which was perhaps also necessary to properly process all the events from the film.
