Google is going to build more artificial intelligence into products

Google is going to make artificial intelligence (AI) available to more users. For example, more Google products such as the Gmail email program, Google Maps map program and Google Photo photo editing program will use artificial intelligence. These systems can, for example, write entire e-mails, adjust photos so that things that remained out of view are supplemented or show a fly-over of a planned route including simulation of the traffic.

But Google’s search engine is also getting regenerative AI. This will ensure that users get better tailored answers to their questions. But links are also disappearing down the search results, potentially causing concern for site owners and publishers.

Bard

All those products will run on new AI systems. They also become the basis of Google’s chatbot Bard, which has so far received a lot of criticism for its unreliability. The new AI machine PaLM2 should improve that. The fact that Bard is now available to all Google users should also help with the rapid improvement of the artificial intelligence. Bard will also be available in many more countries and languages.

Google also said it realizes that artificial intelligence can lead to misinformation. Photos that have been made or modified with AI receive metadata that clearly states this. Ordinary photos also have such information, but the average internet user never looks at it.
