Ilse DeLange has won prizes again with her accessible music and golden throat. She has won a major US country award for the second time in her career. As in 2020, the singer has been awarded the Jeff Walker Global Country Artist Award for the most distinctive country artist outside the United States.
Ilse was surprised on Monday during a dinner with friends in Nashville, she enthusiastically tells her followers on Instagram: “I knew I had been nominated, but in my mind this had long been and awarded. But that turned out to be different. The best part was that there was so much love for each other and for music in the room. Grateful for this beautiful award and especially grateful for so many beautiful, sweet friends who cheer me on (or whistle back when necessary) – where we all give each other the world.”
