Girl dies after road accident

Alkmaar – At the Nicolaas Beetskade in Alkmaar, a 5-year-old girl from Alkmaar died in a traffic accident with a motorcycle on Saturday, early in the afternoon. Police traffic specialists are investigating the cause.

The collision happened around 12 noon. A motorcycle driver hit a cargo bike that the girl was riding. Emergency services, including a trauma helicopter, arrived on the scene. The girl was taken to hospital by ambulance, but unfortunately help to the girl was of no avail. The traffic accident analysis carried out a trace investigation immediately after the traffic accident. The investigation into the cause is ongoing. The driver of the motorcycle, a 26-year-old resident of Alkmaar, was injured and taken to hospital. He was arrested and will be questioned later.
