As a Functional Manager for Microsoft 365, you play an essential role in stimulating Digital Collaboration. With your expertise, Microsoft 365 becomes a driving force for our teams and professionals to have an even greater impact on our goals. Your efforts will streamline our collaborative efforts, make our work more enjoyable by providing easy-to-use tools, and lead us toward further automation.
The Municipality of Baarn currently uses more than 180 Microsoft licenses within our network. As a specialist in functional management of Microsoft 365 and as a Product Owner, a significant part of your role includes advising our organization. You work closely with colleagues from different fields to optimize the functionality of the digital workspace.
As the first point of contact for core users, you contribute to the design of processes for information flows and essential workflows. You bridge IT and the organization by analyzing and identifying needs and translating these into action plans and results. Your ability to coordinate effectively with our supplier, the Regional ICT Service Utrecht (RID), is crucial. In this role you will manage external engagement and efficiently manage both internal and external suppliers during the rollout of improvements around Microsoft 365 products. Your commitment to staying current within your specialization – Microsoft 365 – is of the utmost importance. You will ensure that our knowledge and skills remain up to date, while exploring opportunities for Microsoft 365 developments that will benefit your team and the organization. You provide training and support to end users.
What do we ask of you?
- You have at least a completed HBO education, preferably in the field of ICT;
- You have a Microsoft 365 Fundamentals (MS-900) certificate;
- You have at least 3 years of demonstrable work experience supporting, planning, optimizing and implementing Microsoft 365 products such as SharePoint, Teams, Outlook and have good functional product knowledge and understand underlying technical facets.

You can explain technical concepts in an understandable way to non-technical colleagues. You have a drive to help employees use our tools. You naturally focus on what you can make possible. That makes you an important player in any team. You have excellent organizational and planning skills and can structure work processes. This means that you approach and complete projects and management in an efficient manner and thus contribute to the success of the organization.
You enjoy working in an organization where a lot of responsibility lies in the product teams and you show ownership of the range of services offered in this team. You are driven in your work and want to make maximum use of the possibilities of Microsoft 365 products. To achieve this, you are able to guide colleagues in solutions. You act as a coach and move the team along with the changes. Guiding a starting (junior) candidate for this work is no problem for you.
What do we offer you?
Depending on education and experience, we offer a suitable salary between €2,878 and €4,052 (scale 8) gross per month (for a 36-hour working week). The position is currently being re-described and weighed. To bridge the gap, a labor market allowance of up to 10 percent can be considered as part of the total employment conditions package. We also offer good secondary employment conditions in accordance with the Collective Labor Agreement for Municipalities. This way you get an Individual Choice Budget (IKB). This is a freely disposable budget of 17.05% of the gross annual salary. You decide when you want to have this budget (partially) paid out. You can also buy and sell leave. You start with a 1-year contract. Are you functioning well? You will then receive a permanent contract. At the municipality of Baarn we work hybrid: you have the freedom to alternate working from home and working in the office and receive a home work allowance of €3 net per day.
