As a Functional Manager you are the connector between users and technology. With your experience and strong communication, you know how to switch quickly and naturally between various levels within and outside the organization. What are you going to do?

The tasks of the functional manager can be divided into four processes:

  • Usage management, providing access and authorization of information systems;
  • Change management, providing updates and (hot) fixes that are discussed within the agreed period (via the Change Advisory Group) and installed after approval;
  • Functionality management, supporting end users and providing up-to-date documentation, maintaining various functionalities and (continuously) training end users;
  • Needs management, providing incidental and periodic reports, attending structural (operational) meetings with key users, team leaders, information managers, fellow functional managers and architects.

    You are also responsible for:

  • The availability and continuity of the information systems within the “Purchasing to Payment” process; We have purchased a modern SaaS application for this purpose that communicates with underlying systems in Veenendaal and with our suppliers from whom we purchase products and services. Internal and external coordination: within this process and system you coordinate quotations, order requests, contracts and invoices through the application. walk over. You have frequent contact with internal users and suppliers.
  • Monitoring the messages exchanged with other systems
  • Do you focus on the further development and use of the functionality of the information systems in connection with the different users;
  • Training a buddy within the functional management team and being a buddy for one colleague;

  • Performs acceptance tests on the delivered systems and directs the rollout to production.

Where will you work?

The Information & Automation department has 9 clusters. Process management, Information management, Information management and Business Intelligence on the IT side. Functional Application Management, Project Management, Monitoring & Security, Service Desk, Network Management and System Management on the Automation side. Within Information & Automation, 50 employees are continuously working to guarantee and maintain the quality of IT services. Being able to work independently of time and place, having information available digitally or collecting passports and/or driving licenses for citizens are examples of our IT services. We guarantee this service by working together as a team on projects, having conversations with the customer and handling reports and changes. Taking initiative, following processes and thinking creatively are among the core competencies of our team. In addition, information security and the protection of personal data are of paramount importance.
When working together, colleagues, suppliers, regional municipalities, government agencies and service providers are our discussion partners. The Information & Automation department is currently in the middle of changing from management to a directing organization. The management role changes into a directing role where the focus of your own organization changes and becomes more between the customer and the supplier. What do we offer you?

We offer you a position for 36 hours per week with a salary of a maximum of €4,752 gross per month (scale 9, Collective Labor Agreement for Municipalities). You will receive an employment contract for one year. If performance is good and there is enthusiasm from both sides, we will convert this agreement into an employment contract for an indefinite period.

What do we ask and what do you bring?

  • A relevant completed HBO education such as Functional Management, Business IT & Management, (Business) Informatics, Business Information Systems, Industrial Engineering and Management.
  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience as a Functional Manager.
  • Current knowledge of technical, industry and profession-related developments.
  • You can work well together, have great empathy and are customer-oriented.
  • BiSL and TMap certificates are an advantage.
