Fugitive TBS prisoner Mouloud M., who escaped from a clinic in Groningen on February 7, has been arrested in the Czech Republic. Czech police arrested him on Monday morning during a check in the town of Kadan. The Dutch Public Prosecution Service will ask the Czech Republic to surrender the man.

The 33-year-old psychotic TBS patient Mouloud M. from Enschede stayed in the Van Mesdagkliniek in Groningen, where he managed to escape during supervised leave. A search then began by FASTNL, the Fugitive Active Search Team of the Dutch police. An international arrest warrant was also issued.

The police released a photo of the escaped M. in the TV program Opsporing Verzocht, who was last seen on February 7 near the Sterrebos in Groningen.
Convictions
According to the AD, Mouloud M. was convicted in 2020 for assaulting a social worker in Amsterdam and for threatening his treating doctor with death in Utrecht.
M. was in the Van Mesdag Clinic for a conviction in Germany in 2017. There he was guilty of several attempted manslaughter, threats and vandalism.
