Four minors heard for explosions in Kaatsheuvel

Kaatsheuvel – The investigation into several explosions in Kaatsheuvel, caused by the lighting of heavy illegal fireworks, is in full swing. Two minor suspects have now been arrested at home and two other minor suspects have had to report to the police station to make a statement. As soon as the investigation is completed, they must answer to the judge.

On Sunday afternoon, December 3, 2023, a house on Bogaert in Kaatsheuvel was severely damaged. The front door was blown up with heavy fireworks, and the ceiling was also damaged. The shocked residents were not injured and were able to get outside safely. A church across the street was also damaged. Some glass and stained glass windows were damaged there,

An extensive criminal investigation was conducted and investigators tracked down several young people through checks on people in the area after the explosion. The police suspect them of being involved in several incidents in varying compositions.

Flat and salt box
For example, on November 25, 2023, heavy fireworks, cobras, were set off at an apartment on Panhoef in Kaatsheuvel, causing damage at the entrance to the building. On Friday, December 1, 2023, a salt box on Ferdinand Bolplein was also destroyed with fireworks. This caused considerable havoc in the area.
