Firearm taken from the street after arrest of 22-year-old Rotterdam resident

Rotterdam – On Sunday evening, November 5, around 6:30 p.m., a 22-year-old Rotterdam resident was arrested on Gijsinglaan for vandalizing a home. During his arrest, officers found a firearm and heavy fireworks on him.

The police were alerted yesterday about a vandalism to a house on Gijsinglaan in Rotterdam. Arriving officers found a man suspected of the destruction. Officers then tried to arrest the 22-year-old man from Rotterdam, but he resisted. Two colleagues suffered injuries to their hands. During the arrest, a firearm fell from the suspect’s pocket and moments later it turned out that he also had a firearm with him. The man was arrested on suspicion of vandalism, unruliness, possession of firearms and possession of heavy fireworks.
