A car exploded on Nieuw-Mathenesserstraat in Schiedam on Sunday evening after a fire bomb was thrown inside. No one was injured.

A van next to the parked car was also damaged by the fire. The building next to the exploded car suffered minor damage.
The windshield of the car ended up on the other side of the street due to the explosion. The Nieuw-Mathenesserstraat was cordoned off for an investigation by the police and the Explosive Safety Team (TEV). The fire was quickly extinguished. According to an eyewitness, a telephone was found next to the car.
