A fifth suspect was arrested on Tuesday in the investigation into the shooting in Vlaardingen in which a 29-year-old man was seriously injured. It concerns a 28-year-old man from Rotterdam. The victim is still in hospital.
The suspect emerged in the investigation and reported to a police station on Tuesday. The 28-year-old Rotterdam resident was arrested and brought before the examining magistrate on Friday. He has decided that he will remain in custody for at least two weeks.
On Sunday, January 7, officers arrested three suspects aged 23, 24 and 31. Investigation revealed that the house opposite the victim’s home appeared to be involved in the shooting. During a search, a significant amount of drugs was found there. The three arrested suspects are linked to these drugs. The three are still in custody.
After investigation and cooperation with the French police, a 17-year-old suspect was also arrested in France on Thursday, January 11. He is now stuck in the Netherlands.
The investigation is not yet completed with all arrests, the police said on Friday. There is no information yet about what led to the shooting. It is unclear whether this could possibly be a rip deal.
