Iwasa holds on under immense pressure from Martins, Pourchaire crashes

Ayumu Iwasa has won the Formula 2 sprint race in Jeddah. The Red Bull Racing protégé started from P4, but took over the lead early on and never relinquished it. Victor Martins finished second after a great catch-up race from P10. Jehan Daruvala takes to the podium on behalf of MP Motorsport. The Indian came in third, after he had been fighting for the victory for a long time.

Théo Pourchaire, who was the championship leader for the weekend, crashed out of the race on lap seven after braking much too late in turn one. He took Oliver Bearman with him in his accident, forcing both gentlemen to retire prematurely. Richard Verschoor did not have a very nice day. The Dutch driver of Van Amersfoort Racing started nineteenth and finished sixteenth in the sprint race.
