A home-made explosive and drugs were found in a home in South Rotterdam on Saturday morning. An explosive went off at a home in Amsterdam-Osdorp on Sunday evening for the second time in a few days.
Open trunk
Officers who were conducting surveillance in the Wielwaal district of Rotterdam on Saturday morning saw a car with an open trunk. In the trunk they saw several jerry cans with liquids. Because there had already been several reports of fuel theft in the area, the officers also checked a house on Aarnoudstraat after searching the car. There they find an explosive device and then evacuate the house. The EOD arrived on site to dismantle the explosive, after which the search continued.
Fireworks and drugs
During the search, illegal fireworks, a small amount of cocaine and a quantity of pills were found. The police have arrested a 45-year-old man as a suspect.
Osdorpplein
There was an explosion at a house on Van Suchtelen Van de Haarestraat in Amsterdam-Osdorp on Sunday evening. The building near Osdorpplein was also damaged by an explosion on Wednesday night. There were no injuries in either case.
The explosion took place on Sunday evening around 11:30 PM and caused further damage to the front door. No suspects have been arrested yet. The police are looking for camera images.
