On the night from Monday to Tuesday, around 2 a.m. there was an explosion at a bar on the Bloemstede in Maarssen. No one was injured. The explosion caused a fire in the building, which was extinguished by the fire brigade.
There was an explosion at a lunchroom on the Lange Nieuwstraat in IJmuiden around 3:15 am. An attack was probably committed with heavy fireworks.
Police and the Royal Military Police arrived on the scene. One person was checked on site. A large part of IJmuiden around the port is a safety risk area where the military police also have a supervisory task.
Nothing has been released about the perpetrator or perpetrators of the two attacks.
