Explosions took place at a catering establishment in Purmerend and a home in Heerhugowaard on Saturday night. No one was injured, but there was significant damage. The house on Middenweg in Heerhugowaard was also the target of an explosion last weekend.
Purmerend
Around 5:15 am there was an explosion at a catering establishment on the Koemarkt in Purmerend. The building and the terrace suffered damage as a result. Police say it is unclear at this time what caused the explosion. Police have launched an investigation.
Heerhugowaard
Around 4:55 am, residents of a house on Middenweg in Heerhugowaard were awakened by a loud bang. The front door of the building was destroyed by an explosion. Last weekend an explosive had also gone off at the same house. Then explosions took place at the front door of two different addresses on Middenweg on both Friday and Saturday nights. The explosions both took place around 3:15 am. In both cases the front door was dislocated.
No suspects have yet been arrested for last night’s attacks. The police say they are looking for camera images.
