The entrance to a Greek restaurant in the center of Roermond was damaged by an explosion this morning. The facade of the building is devastated and windows have been broken.
The police suspect that the damage was caused by heavy fireworks. A correspondent from L1 reports that the fireworks were probably thrown in through the letterbox. The street near the restaurant has been closed off.
The police and fire brigade initially came to Sint Christoffelstraat because of a report of a fire in the house above the restaurant, L1 writes.

Residents of a house on the Aprikozentuin in Rotterdam were also startled by an explosion last night. An explosion damaged the window frame and front door of their house.
The residents are extremely shocked, Rijnmond reports. No one was injured.
