An explosion occurred in a drug lab in the Gelderland village of Herveld on Monday morning, the police reported on X. The drug lab is in a shed at a farm on Merkenhorststraat. A total of eight suspects have been arrested for possible involvement.

Pursuit
Shortly after the explosion, one of the suspects left in a car and drove away. Based on investigative information, this suspect was spotted a little later and arrested after a short chase on the Papendorpseweg in Utrecht near the A12. This suspect was taken to hospital with injuries. The car was checked on site.
The other seven suspects were found on the premises where the drug lab is also located. The role of all arrested suspects is being investigated. The investigation into the drug lab is in full swing.
Three dead
A week and a half ago there was an explosion in one apartment complex on the Schammenkamp in South Rotterdam, which resulted in three deaths. The explosion was probably caused by a drug lab.
The police have arrested a 34-year-old Rotterdam resident who allegedly manufactured drugs in the apartment complex.
