Explosion blows out facade in Amsterdam, also attack in Spijkenisse


During an explosion at an apartment complex on Du Perronstraat in Amsterdam-West, the entire facade was blown away on Sunday night around 00.45. No one was hurt. An explosion also took place at a house in Spijkenisse on Sunday night, causing damage to the front door.

The emergency services arrived on the scene after an explosion at a residential complex on Du Perronstraat in Amsterdam-Geuzeveld. The force of the explosion blew out the front of the porch in its entirety. The fire brigade quickly arrived on the scene and removed all residents above the porch from their apartments, including children. These have all been checked by the ambulance staff.

The police Forensic Investigation is investigating and has secured traces. It is still unknown when the residents will be able to return. No one has been arrested yet.

Spijkenisse

An explosion took place at a house on Buntgras in Spijkenisse on Sunday night around 1:50 am. Throwing an explosive through the letterbox caused a window to burst. No one was injured.

The police have secured traces and are investigating the cause of the explosion. According to sources, the occupant of the building works in the Rotterdam port area.
