Explosion at house in Rotterdam

Rotterdam – An explosion at the front door of a house on the Pruimentuin in Rotterdam on February 24 led to considerable damage. No one was injured.

The explosion took place around 2:50 a.m., after which the emergency services quickly arrived. The police immediately started questioning witnesses and the Forensic Investigation and an explosives expert from the police came to the scene. An investigation was also immediately started in the immediate vicinity, which led to the discovery of two suspects: a 21-year-old man from Rotterdam and a 29-year-old fellow citizen. The role of both persons is being investigated by the detective.

Top priority
So far, one person has been injured in the previous incidents: in the explosion on 21 February on Sint Andriesstraat, a woman was taken to hospital for a check-up. She was quickly discharged from the hospital after examination.
The explosion at the Plum Garden is the seventh that took place in Rotterdam this week. For the criminal investigation department of the Rijnmond South district, the investigation into the explosions has top priority and extra surveillance is carried out at night, among other things.
