Purmerend – In the night from Sunday to Monday there was an explosion at a house on Weverstraat in Purmerend. The first call came in at 1:17 am. Shortly after the explosion, a fire broke out at the house.
Fortunately, the residents were able to leave the house through the roof and were taken to hospital for treatment. They suffered from smoke inhalation.
The police immediately launched a (forensic) investigation. It is also being investigated whether there are usable images from the cameras installed this weekend.
The investigation that is already underway into previous incidents in Purmerend and Middenbeemster shows that it is a criminal conflict and it is extra bitter that the residents of the house on Weverstraat have nothing to do with it.
Last Saturday, a 20-year-old Purmerender was already arrested in this investigation and the detective is investigating the connection between these cases. Police are not ruling out multiple arrests.
Just like the mayor, the police ask neighbors to take care of each other and to watch out for each other. Information about these matters can be shared via 0900-8844. Or via this form…..
Always call 112 in an emergency.
