Ex-professional football player Oussama Assaidi (35) was the victim of an armed home robbery on Thursday evening. This is reported by De Telegraaf. The perpetrator is said to have entered Assaidi’s house in Abcoude just before 6:30 PM and held his wife at gunpoint.
Not at home
Assaidi was not home at the time of the incident. Several valuable items were allegedly stolen by the perpetrator, who initially fled on foot, but soon stole a scooter from a passer-by after which he fled.
The police are investigating the case. The perpetrator has not yet been arrested. It concerns a man of approximately 1.85 meters tall with a slim build.
Previously targeted
It is not the first time that Oussama Assaidi has been a victim of robbers. Just before the corona period, robbers tried to steal his Rolls-Royce. During the World Cup in Qatar at the end of 2022, a burglary attempt at the seventeen-time international of Morocco is said to have failed.
Assaidi stopped playing football as a player for FC Twente in 2019. He previously played for sc Heerenveen, Liverpool and Stoke City, among others.
