Ex-employee is arrested for threats and theft after a wild chase

Breda – A 56-year-old entrepreneur was threatened and robbed by an ex-employee (36) on Friday afternoon, March 22. When the alerted police tried to arrest him, he fled in his car. A wild chase ensued before the man was arrested.

Around 3:30 p.m. the complainant drives onto the grounds of his company in Breda. He then sees that an ex-employee is waiting for him. This man (36) was fired in January and had previously sought redress from the complainant and threatened him. Once again he approaches his former boss threateningly. An altercation ensues in which the suspect at some point manages to grab the complainant’s bag from his car. The bag contains, among other things, a laptop and the man’s wallet. When the suspect drives away with the bag, the reporter calls 112 and gives chase. An alerted police officer spots the pair on the Zevenbergseweg in Klundert and takes over the chase. He gives the suspect a stop sign, but the man has no intention of complying. He accelerates and a wild chase ensues in which the suspect drives against traffic several times. He eventually stops at the Blauwe Hoef in Klundert, but now he wants to leave again on foot. Only when the officer threatens with his stun gun does the suspect give in. He was arrested and put in jail.
