Results control

A total of 1,533 vehicles and 1,999 persons were checked. Four people were arrested, including one person who was under international arrest. Thirteen people have been ticketed for driving under the influence of alcohol. You can read the full results and more information about this check in the press release of the German police.

Importance of international cooperation

As a unit, we consider it very important to invest in Euregional police cooperation. In addition to differences in structure, jurisdiction and culture, there are fortunately many similarities where we find each other to improve the care for the safety of citizens in the Euregio together. A large, joint audit like this one yesterday shows how well there is cooperation in front and behind the scenes.

Police Chief Ingrid Schäfer-Poels: “Cross-border crime is increasing in all its forms and the need to intensify cooperation is evident. Information-driven working is essential here and the challenge of making the right choices is a responsibility that we are all aware of. I am proud of the colleagues who make all this possible, always with the interest of the citizen in mind.”
